Mike Mitchell, the director of policy and research at Groundwork Collaborative, told Insider the strikes reflect a “huge, significant shift in power from workers to corporations and businesses.” He says this is because the pandemic and ensuing Recession created so much uncertainty for workers, while inequality increased and wages remained stagnant.
