Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the October jobs report which showed that the U.S. economy added 12,000 new jobs and the unemployment rate held steady at 4.1%. Groundwork Collaborative Executive Director Lindsay Owens reacted with the following statement:
“Although temporary factors including storms and strikes contributed to today’s weak report, we also saw downward revisions to reports from previous. The Federal Reserve should continue with their planned cuts. Underreacting to this report risks a further slowdown in the labor market.”
