Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the December Consumer Price Index, which shows inflation at 2.9% year-over-year with prices for essentials like groceries and energy rising last month. Groundwork Collaborative Chief Economist Dr. Rakeen Mabud reacted with the following statement:
“Prices for essentials like groceries continue to rise but President-elect Trump has shown no inclination to lower costs for families. Instead, he’s working overtime to pass tax breaks for his billionaire buddies and giant corporations.”
