Today, Groundwork’s Chief Economist Dr. Rakeen Mabud called for the Federal Reserve to hold an emergency Federal Open Market Committee meeting in order to cut interest rates:
“Chair Powell cannot wait until September to cut interest rates. The Fed must cut rates by at least 75 basis points immediately to stop the pain high interest rates are inflicting on the everyday people who power our economy.”
