For the fourth year in a row, Groundwork’s Executive Director Lindsay Owens has been named to Washingtonian magazine’s list of the “500 Most Influential People Shaping Policy” in Washington, DC. Among a wide-ranging portfolio, the magazine honed in on Owens’ work to elevate the healthcare price hikes resulting from the expiring ACA tax credits.

Over the last year, Groundwork:
Groundwork’s growing influence is driven by a unique combination of rigorous economic analysis and a clear understanding of how the economy shows up in people’s everyday lives. This influence has translated into real world action. More broadly, Groundwork’s work has been cited in federal and state efforts to crack down on corporate pricing schemes.
This fall, Owens will publish her debut book, Gouged: The End of a Fair Price – and What That Means for Your Wallet (Viking Penguin 2026).
