Tomorrow: Groundwork Chief Economist to Testify at Congressional Hearing on Pandemic Profiteering

Tomorrow, February 2, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. ET, Groundwork Collaborative’s Chief Economist and Managing Director of Policy and Research Rakeen Mabud will testify at a hearing of the Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce entitled “Pandemic Profiteers: Legislation to Stop Corporate Price Gouging.

Mabud will discuss the widespread pandemic profiteering that is enriching corporate executives and shareholders while hurting consumers, workers, and small businesses around the country. She will lay out how current profiteering is the direct result of decades of policy choices that have resulted in an imbalanced and brittle economy. And she will recommend that Congress tackle pandemic profiteering and price gouging head-on.
