Ahead of tomorrow’s Jobs Report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Groundwork’s Chief Economist Dr. Rakeen Mabud released the following statement:
“After 11 straight months of falling inflation and historically low unemployment, additional interest rate hikes should be the last thing on policymakers’ minds.
“We never had to choose between lower unemployment and lower inflation. It’s time for Chair Powell to put the brakes on rate hikes for good.”
