GROUNDWORK
OUR MISSION
We are working with economic policy experts, progressive movement leaders, and activists on the front lines of progressive causes in communities across the country to:
● Develop and advance a progressive economic worldview.
● Collaborate and foster new ideas, and develop new pathways to share information.
● Break down issue silos, support and amplify each other’s work, and show up for one another on critical economic issue campaigns.

We are the economy.
When all of us—white, Black and brown—work together, we build a thriving economy that delivers meaningful opportunity and prosperity for everyone. When we each have the power to make choices and invest in our communities, families, and own futures, we all make the economy stronger—and that way, our families can do more than just live paycheck to paycheck, we can get ahead.
OUR GOAL
A strong economy delivers real opportunity, security, and prosperity for all families—not just the wealthy few. For too long we’ve built up barriers to a strong economy, while ignoring what actually creates prosperity for all.

Barrier
For too long, the wealthy and well-connected have bought access to politicians and rigged the rules to put themselves first—and left working families to foot the bill.
Ingredient
Shared growth and prosperity for all is built by workers, families, and communities, not by corporate CEOs or the wealthy.

The rich and powerful who have rigged the system like to divide us against each other, pointing the finger for our economic woes at people of color and immigrants.
Ingredient
A well-functioning economy is one that is inclusive and provides for workers and families of ALL races, ethnicities, genders, and orientations.

The economy lags when families can’t get ahead because they are one hospital visit, one pink slip, or one sickness away from bankruptcy.
Ingredient
An uncorrupted government, free from the capture of wealthy interests, is the way for ordinary people to come together to level the playing field.
The Groundwork Collaborative’s mission is to advance an economic vision for strong, broadly shared prosperity and true opportunity for all.
