Tomorrow, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will deliver remarks at the Kansas City Fed’s Jackson Hole Economic Symposium. Groundwork Collaborative’s Chief Economist Dr. Rakeen Mabud released the following statement ahead of Chair Powell’s remarks:
“The Fed’s high interest rates are pushing people into debt and making life unaffordable for millions of families. The biggest threat to the economy is not inflation, it’s the Fed.
“Jackson Hole is a great place for Chair Powell to commit to cutting interest rates by at least 75 basis points.”
