Ian Mogavero is the Chief Operating Officer at Groundwork Collaborative.

Ian is an executive leader and organizational strategist who helps mission-driven institutions translate ambitious social impact goals into durable, high-performing organizations.

Prior to Groundwork, Ian served as Chief Operating Officer of Art Bridges Foundation, where he advanced a national vision to expand access to American art. He led the $40 million Access forAll program across 36 states and Puerto Rico, expanding free admission, deepening community engagement, and building more inclusive audiences.

Previously, Ian served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of TechEquity, where he led organizational efforts to address racial inequity and economic access in the tech economy. During his tenure, TechEquity helped advance landmark policy wins, includingCalifornia’s Pay Equity Act of 2022 and the Tenant Protection Act of 2019. Earlier, as both a consultant and in-house leader at ERG, IDM, and SeaPlan, Ian supported strategic planning, operations, and governance across the environmental sector, including work that enabled the first offshore wind development in the United States.

Across his career, Ian has launched nonprofits, built cross-sector and public-private partnerships, and strengthened the operational and financial foundations of mission-driven organizations nationwide.

Ian holds an MBA from the Kenan Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in Studio Art from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts.
